Kalule Herbert
Kalule Herbert Albert Kasule, known simply as “Kalule,” is a talented Ugandan artist who began his journey at Afriart Gallery in 2003. Inspired by his surroundings, he developed into a self-taught artist, selling his first painting just a year later. Kalule specializes in tie and dye painting on fabric, blending traditional African symbols with modern designs. Inspired by his mother, a fashion designer, he expanded his work in 2007 to include batiks, wall hangings, and fabrics for fashion and interior design.

His vibrant, figurative style captures both individual boldness and the essence of African heritage. Each piece tells a story, with his signature focus on the eyes drawing in viewers to explore deeper meanings. Kalule’s studio in Wakiso, Uganda, reflects the rhythms of daily life, as he continues to craft colorful abstracts and fabric art that celebrate African traditions.

His work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Belgium, with prominent displays in galleries like Banana Hill and Umoja. Through his art, Kalule invites collectors to connect with African culture, blending tradition and modernity in each captivating piece.
