LR Vandy

LR Vandy is a British artist whose sculptural practice combines found and constructed objects to explore the intertwined histories of trade, colonialism, power, and identity. Through the transformation of everyday and industrial materials, she challenges established narratives and reveals their hidden cultural and historical meanings.

Her work frequently examines migration, maritime history, and the under-representation of the female form in abstract sculpture. Using materials such as wood, metal, rope, and indigo, Vandy creates works that connect historical memory with themes of resilience, movement, and feminine power.

Her work has been exhibited at Frieze Sculpture and Somerset House, and is held in the collections of the British Museum and National Museums Liverpool. She has presented solo exhibitions at October Gallery, London, including Hidden(2019) and Twist (2024).
