Solomon Luvai was born in Kenya and currently lives in Nairobi Ngong town and works in Karen village.
He joined college at the Buruburu Institute of Fine Art and attended a Diploma course which couldn’t complete because of financial reasons. He formerly was under the mentorship of Patrick Mukabi, a well know artist in Kenya. Solomon is a visual artist who works with mixed media, using paint to fight color blindness while creating art. He focuses mainly on human figure drawing and portraits, capturing expressions, movement, angles and perspective. The artist mainly uses charcoal and soft pastels, playing with colors, scribbles, patterns and layers to create shadow and lights.
His main source of inspiration is music, regardless of its genre. According to Solomon it allows him to deeply connect with the musician whom he often ends up portraying.
